On this coming Friday, Dr. Zhongyuan Kan will give a talk on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) technique.
The NMR technique is widely used in many fields, say, medicine, chemistry and so on. The NMR and the X-ray based protein crystallography are both powerful tools of dissecting the structure of proteins.
His topic is "NMR-based Hydrogen Exchange (HX) Study of Protein Folding".
The talk will be divided into two parts:
Part 1: Introduction of biomolecular NMR
Part 2: HX study of protein folding
(1) protein folding problem
(2) HX methodology
(3) Cytochrome c folding: a case study
Please come and join us at BRB 1101, 12:00 - 1:30 PM on Friday (August 15, 2008, please note the temporary time and location change)! Snacks and water are provided. Lunch boxes are welcome.
